food and the fang

tag to all the great adventure followers, impressed not to be waiting a month for a new post? apparently the guilt trip I put on the parents for the procrastination is paying off!

first things first, I went to the doctor last week, and got all measured, I'm 28.25 inches long (coincidentally is off the chart), 19.3lbs (also off the chart) and my head was on the chart but at 95th percentile. the doc also said since I am back to sleeping 4 hour stretches, that I should cry out a feeding, given my weight is off the chart I won't starve.....I suggested to my parents to get a new doctor.

since i am just over 5 months old now, I have been trying out the delectable addition to my diet, rice cereal. however, at the moment I prefer to wear it rather than eat it.

last saturday, my first fang came in, steak and cookies here I come!

here's me with grandma and grandpa. I love when they visit, I get held and walked, and new toys, and new clothes imported from my colorado cousins....its awesome. my grammy from california is coming in a couple weeks too! I am soooo glad my grandparents are fliers.

Here's me doing my push-ups, can't believe tummy time became fun, can't wait to crawl, my parents can though, apparently they have to childproof once I hit that milestone, tough luck!

thats it from here, Ta, Baby Jake

Summer Summer Summer

hello again to all the followers of great adventures. it appears I must apologize yet again for my parents procrastination in helping me get the posts up, and alas we have another issue this month, scant photos! As I was importing the photos it became clear that in addition to procrastination, my parents are also on a diet from photography. the reason I am most upset about this is I can't include a picture of all of my recent guests, so instead I will try to make it up to those missing by including some orginal commentary about their visit.....

first guests to arrive were grammy and grandpa kinninger from manhattan beach, here's me and grammy relaxing at the lake.

we had a great time with them, we went to the pewaukee water ski show, bbq'd, and grammy bought me a bed so I don't have to sleep in the drawer anymore. (just kidding, I sleep in a packnplay at the lake, oh as a quick aside re sleep, my parents are quite thrown off of late as I have regressed to sleeping 2 hour stretches at night, gotta keep'm guessing :)

my next visitors were auntie tricia and uncle shane, they took me on the train! my parents live 2 blocks from the train but had never taken it, weirdos. tricia and shane took me to the art institute to check out monet and jackson pollock, but I got tired of all that culture and made my presence known in those quiet galleries. then we went up to the lake and uncle shane fed us some yuuuummmy food, he's a college professor, but I think he moonlights as a chef. we got up to take them to the airpot at 3am, I was sleeping quite nicely until mommers set off the car alarm.

dadders took a couple of days off work and we hung out at the lake, here's us...

next we had some friends up for the 4th of July, the mushetts - andrew, lisa and reagan, and jenn.

we took boat rides and bbq'd and watched wimbleton. the federer/roddick match was awesome, it was a great way for roger to surpass sampras, but such a bummer for andy, though look out at the us open, I think roddick may win. my tennis knowlege is impressive eh?

he's me looking cute

i have a dr appt tomorrow, (well see if I am still 95% percentile), grandma and grandpa hughes are arriving and its uncle dean's birthday, the great adventures continue. apologies again to grandpa kinninger, tricia and shane for having no photos to post, blame my parents!!!
